ACHILLE LAURO

Achille Lauro is the stage name of Lauro De Marinis, an Italian singer and rapper born in Verona in 1990 and raised in Rome. He started in the city's underground rap scene as a teenager, pulled in by his older brother Federico, a producer with the Quarto Blocco crew. The name comes from the cruise ship Achille Lauro, which people kept bringing up because of his first name.

He broke into the mainstream at the 2019 Sanremo Festival with "Rolls Royce", then went back in 2020 with "Me ne frego" and turned his performances there into costume shows, glam and androgynous outfits included. Albums like "Pour l'amour" and "1969" moved him from trap toward rock and pop ballads, and he returned to Sanremo in 2022 and again in 2025.
