Anna Puu is a Finnish singer-songwriter, born Anna Puustjärvi in 1982 in the town of Outokumpu in eastern Finland. She first became known in 2008 as a finalist on the Finnish version of Idols, where she finished second but still earned a record deal.
She took the stage name Anna Puu ("puu" means "tree" in Finnish) and released her self-titled debut album in 2009. It went straight to number one, powered by the hit single "C'est la vie," and she has been one of Finland's most popular pop and rock voices ever since, with several chart-topping albums. Beyond her own music, she has also worked as a coach on The Voice of Finland. Her warm, story-driven songs, like this one about a family drifting apart, are a big part of why Finnish audiences have loved her for over a decade.
