Tiakola is William Mundala, born in Bondy in December 1999 and raised in the Cité des 4000 in La Courneuve, the youngest of eight children in a family with roots in Kinshasa. He came up in 4Keus, the La Courneuve crew he joined in 2015, and started dropping solo tracks in 2019 while still part of the group.
His debut album Mélo came out on Wati B in 2022 and was certified diamond in France in September 2025. In between, he made La mélo est gangx, a joint album with Gazo, and went straight to number one in France with Meridian, a bilingual track with the British rapper Dave. The mixtape BDLM Vol. 1 followed in 2024 and has since gone triple platinum. That same year he moved to Atlantic Records.
