Che Peccato Lyrics in English Alessandra Amoroso

Below, I translated the lyrics of the song Che Peccato by Alessandra Amoroso from Italian to English.
Sorry if sometimes I still speak
With your eyes
If I still believe you'll betray me
There are moments when it seems
That you're looking for me
And others
When you never found me
Sorry if sometimes I still feel you touch me
Or worse, that you think like me
Things are as they are now
And that's how it'll be, forever you'll be
Among a thousand things I gave you, you chose the words
What a shame
Today there's sun too
If you looked closer
Behind there was the heart
What a shame
Today there's sun too
Sorry for the times I cross your mind
The times you never want
You'll never really decide
Maybe it won't even happen to you
And things are as they are now
I still remain in what you do
Among a thousand things I gave you, you chose the words
But what a shame
Today there's sun too
If you looked closer behind there was the heart
What a shame
Today there's sun too
Among a thousand things I gave you, you chose the words
But what a shame
What a shame
Today there's sun too
If you looked closer behind there was the heart
But what a shame
Sorry if sometimes I still speak
With your eyes
But what a shame
Today there's sun too
Sorry if sometimes I still feel
That you touch me
What a shame
Today there's sun too

SONG MEANING

“Che Peccato” spins the bittersweet story of a love that almost made it. Alessandra Amoroso sings from the perspective of someone who still feels her ex everywhere: in a passing touch, in an exchanged glance that no longer exists, in the sudden fear that he might betray her again. Each memory pops up on a day that is, paradoxically, filled with sunshine. The chorus repeats “Che peccato… oggi c’è anche il sole” (“What a pity… today the sun is shining”), capturing that awkward mix of beautiful weather and inner storm. The real sting? Out of all the precious moments she offered, he clung only to empty words.

Despite the breakup, she admits she is forever “in what you do,” suggesting that love’s residue lingers long after it ends. The song reminds us how regrets echo louder when everything outside looks perfect. If only he had looked a little closer, he would have seen her heart behind every word. Now she’s left with the sunshine, the memories, and one aching thought: what a pity.
