Universidad Lyrics in English by Tini, Beéle
Estrellas is a brilliant pun in this song! It literally means "stars," but it's also the verb form "you crash" from the verb estrellarse.
Tini first sings that love makes you "ver estrellas" (see stars), a classic idiom for being blissfully in love. She then cleverly flips it, singing that in the end "contra la realidad te estrellas" (you crash against reality), perfectly capturing the dizzying highs and painful lows of romance with a single word.
Ever felt like you needed a class on how to handle love and heartbreak? Tini and Beéle get it. In "Universidad," they sing about how nobody really teaches you about love, saying, "Todos lo sienten, pero nadie te lo enseña" (Everyone feels it, but nobody teaches you). The song plays with the idea that love starts by making you "ver estrellas" (see stars), but ends with you "contra la realidad te estrellas" (crashing against reality). It's a clever way to talk about how relationships can go from amazing to painful.
The whole song is built around this big idea: "No existe universidad en la que enseñen a amar como se debe" (There's no university that teaches how to love properly). There's no textbook for a broken heart. Beéle adds his own spin, feeling down while his ex is out somewhere, and even jokes that he tried to get a doctorate to forget her. Ultimately, they both feel like only the person who left can fix the pain, ending with the sad realization: "Solo tú sabes curarme y ya te has ido" (Only you know how to heal me and you've already gone).
