Yiyo Sarante, born Eduardo Sarante in the Dominican Republic, is a bachata and salsa singer known for his deep, expressive voice. The seventh of nine children born to Ángel Sarante and María Perdomo, he got his start as a percussionist before making his solo singing debut in 1999, performing in the tourist town of Bávaro.
He built his career through the 2000s and 2010s, with his 2011 single "Tierra Mala" landing at number two on the Dominican Republic's annual Top 50 Salsa list. Yiyo comes from a musical family: his older brother, the late Yoskar Sarante, was one of the most celebrated bachata singers of his generation.
Today, Yiyo Sarante continues to record romantic bachata like "Corazón de Acero," building his own following among fans of the genre.
