Summer Drive Lyrics in English by Moenia
Manejar means "to drive" or "to manage." While it's a common verb, its usage in this song, titled "Summer Drive," makes it particularly relevant and enticing.
In the lyrics, the phrase "Prefiero manejar" (I prefer to drive) directly connects to the song's theme of a summer drive, making it a key word that encapsulates the song's essence and invites listeners to explore the journey it describes.
Moenia's "Summer Drive" feels like a spontaneous road trip where the destination isn't as important as the journey itself. The lyrics open with a sense of hesitation, as if someone is asking, "pero si a ti te asuste algo así entonces sí no" [but if something like that scares you then no]. But the singer quickly decides, "prefiero manejar" [I prefer to drive], choosing the open road over waiting around. It's all about clearing your mind, feeling "el viento" [the wind], and letting the drive promise a continuation of tomorrow.
This song really captures that feeling of escaping the everyday. The line "la vida no te da opción será sólo uno más" [life doesn't give you an option, it will just be one more] suggests a desire to break free from routine. Instead of getting stuck, the singer embraces the freedom of the highway, feeling like they're part of something bigger, or simply just driving "en la carretera" [on the highway]. It's a cool anthem for anyone who finds peace and possibility in a long drive.
