Maye (María Alejandra Osorio) is a singer-songwriter from Caracas, Venezuela, now based in the United States. She grew up in a musical family: her father, Fernando Osorio, is a songwriter who won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Tropical Song. Maye started writing songs at eight years old and picked up the guitar as a teenager, writing first in English before her father encouraged her to write in Spanish too.
Her music blends poetic, introspective lyrics with genre-blurring soundscapes, mixing Latin rhythms with indie-pop textures and expressive vocals. She has performed a Tiny Desk concert for NPR and toured alongside artists like The Marías and Faye Webster. In 2025 she released her long-awaited debut album, Música Para Abrir el Cielo, cementing her place as one of the most compelling voices in Latin alternative music.
