MANU

Emanuella Tenório Rocha was born in 1986 in Major Izidoro, Alagoas, but it was Pará that turned her into a star. She started out in a church choir as a kid, was singing professionally with a forró band in Ceará at 14, and in 2009 joined Banda Batidão, where she became one of the leading voices of tecnomelody, the fast, synth-driven dance music of Brazil's North.

The rest of Brazil caught up in 2023, when "Daqui Pra Sempre", her Portuguese version of Loreen's "Tattoo" recorded with Simone Mendes, went to number one on the Billboard Brasil Hot 100. Her songs are made for dancing and for getting over heartbreak, and she sings them at full volume.
