The goals and desires
It is achieved to confirm that outside does not exist
A world for both of us, which I do not intend to enter
You don't want to go out, nobody wants to suffer
Love turned out to be
The cursed slimy pulp of the passion fruit
Something deafening where I don't want to enter
And I can't go out, nobody wants to suffer
And when you leave, you won't know where
Where did it go
The time invested
That time put at stake
Melee
Body, pulp, passion fruit
Body to the ground, our body
Body, pulp, passion fruit
Body, pulp, passion fruit
I think at this point no one should explain anything
We are what we undid and that cost us a lot of work
I think at this point no one should explain anything
We are what we undid and that cost us a lot of work
I reserve my tongue
The only viable exchange on a human scale
Business for two where one bets on talking
And the other is delirious, no one wants to suffer
The rumor turned out to be
The knot of the entire plot that I discussed with you
Something impoverishing, something I know about you
And you know about me, nobody wants to suffer
And when you leave, you won't know where
Where did it go
The time invested
That time put at stake
Melee
Body, pulp, passion fruit
Body to the ground, our body
Body, pulp, passion fruit
Body, pulp, passion fruit
Body, pulp, passion fruit
Body, pulp, passion fruit

Babasónicos turn a love story into fruit pulp, and it works. The big reveal comes early: "El amor resultó ser / La pulpa viscosa maldita del maracuyá" (love turned out to be the cursed, slimy pulp of the passion fruit). If you have ever opened a passion fruit, you know the picture: sweet, sour, seedy and sticky all at once. That is the relationship here. The singer is stuck in "algo ensordecedor donde no quiero entrar / y no puedo salir" (something deafening I don't want to enter and can't get out of), and the refrain keeps shrugging "nadie quiere sufrir" (nobody wants to suffer).

Notice the vos in "Vos no querés salir" (you don't want to go out): that is the Argentine way of saying tú, with its own verb form querés instead of quieres. The bridge is dry and a little bitter: "Somos lo que deshicimos y eso nos costó mucho trabajo" (we are what we undid, and that took a lot of work). Then the chorus collapses into just "Cuerpo, pulpa, maracuyá" (body, pulp, passion fruit), as if the song has given up on explaining and is left with only the physical stuff.
