"Me Amo Tanto" ("I love myself so much") is a self-love anthem that starts with a confession. Thiago Navarro admits there was a time he wanted "que todos me eligieran" (everyone to choose me), until he understood that the one person who could never stop choosing him "era yo" (was me).
The chorus is a list of what that love changed. "Me amo tanto que aprendí a decir que no" (I love myself so much that I learned to say no) to whatever "roba mi calma" (steals my calm). He says "ya no negocio mi paz" (I no longer bargain away my peace), which is a lovely phrase to steal for your own Spanish. The images are gentle: trees that grow when you let them breathe, and "ninguna semilla florece antes que el sol" (no seed blooms before the sun).
The best line comes near the end: "No me hice más fuerte, me hice más amable conmigo" (I didn't get stronger, I got kinder to myself). The spoken outro sums it up without bragging: self-love "no es mirarte por encima de nadie" (isn't looking down on anyone), it is looking at yourself with the same affection you always gave others. Watch the grammar in aprendí a, dejé de and desde que: the song is a neat set of past-tense turning points.
