Noche De Brujas Lyrics in English José Madero

Below, I translated the lyrics of the song Noche De Brujas by José Madero from Spanish to English.
Verse 1
Cape, fangs, costume, it was the beginning
I want to leave
Stay here alone in silence
Verse 1
The makeup hides this bad feeling
I know that at the party you'll be watching them
I should've left the costume, anyway I look dead
Being invisible it seems that I scare you a lot
I take your hand, I hug you, but I saw your gesture
I'm going for a drink, that's why I came, being honest
Chorus 1
I'd rather stay back
I'd rather stay
On the balcony enjoying the occasion
But I see your face in the sky
What's your costume?
Do you dress just for me?
Chorus 1
Or is that cheerleader you embody for someone else?
Starting tomorrow I'll embody someone else
Verse 2
I see you dancing in the distance
My soul on the floor
Verse 2
My soul matches those who dress in black
The lights, the smoke
The vibration of the moment
Verse 2
A superhero approaches you, his body without rhythm
Chorus 2
I'd rather be in a bar
I'd rather be somewhere else
Where the people are real
That the wind doesn't carry their words away
What's your costume?
Do you dress just for me?
Chorus 2
Let me tell you, you look familiar to me
I don't recognize you in a mask
Chorus 3
What's your costume?
Do you dress just for me?
Chorus 3
Does all this torment disguise itself?
What's your costume?
Do you dress just for him?
Chorus 3
I don't get why you invite me anymore
I'd be a ghost even if I didn't wear a costume

SONG MEANING

Noche de Brujas paints the scene of a Halloween-style party where everyone hides behind costumes, masks, and makeup. Our narrator shows up cloaked and fanged, but beneath the spooky get-up he feels lonely, ignored, and painfully aware that the girl he likes is focused on someone else. While colored lights flash and fog machines hiss, he slips into the background, wondering why she invited him if he is destined to feel like a ghost even without a sheet over his head.

The lyrics play with the idea of disguise, asking repeatedly “¿De qué es tu disfraz?” – What are you really hiding behind? The singer questions whether her cheerleader costume is meant for him, for another guy, or to cover her own inner turmoil. In short, the track is less about monsters and more about the fear of emotional invisibility, showing how a festive night can expose heartbreak instead of concealing it.
