"Antes de Morirme" (Before I Die) is a bucket list shouted at full volume. Bely Basarte opens by refusing to play nice: "Yo no quiero hacer lo correcto" (I don't want to do the right thing), and then, twice, "Pa' esa mierda ya no tengo tiempo" (I don't have time for that crap anymore). That pa' is just para (for) with the end chopped off, the way people actually talk, and mierda is a swear word, so keep it for friends.
The chorus is greedy in the best way. "Antes de morir quiero el cielo, el ciento por ciento" (Before I die I want heaven, one hundred percent) sounds like a prayer until she adds "por cierto" (by the way), which turns it into a shrug. Then come the promises: to love someone "hasta borrar el límite entre los dos" (until the line between the two of us is erased), and to keep taking hits "hasta el k.o" (until the knockout).
The bridge is my favourite part. "Vámonos de aquí para no volver" (Let's get out of here and never come back) and "Sin ser gitana tengo compás" (Without being a gypsy I've got rhythm) is a nod to flamenco, where compás is the beat you either feel or you don't. The list of last wishes gets wild: "otra piel" (another skin), "volver a nacer" (to be born again), and even "mátame" (kill me). It is a bit much, and that is the point.
