"Santa Cos" sounds like a Christmas song for about thirty seconds. It opens with a kid-like voice asking "¿Dónde está Santa Claus?" (where is Santa Claus?) and talks about "una época de paz, amor, y felicidad" (a season of peace, love and happiness). Then Cosculluela crowns himself Santa, says he comes "directamente desde el Polo Norte" (straight from the North Pole), and announces that "El que cierra es Santa Claus" (the one who closes the year is Santa Claus). What follows is a long, furious diss track, and the Christmas wrapping is the joke.
The target is another Puerto Rican rapper, Tempo, named again and again: "Juegaselos todos a Tempo" (bet all your money on Tempo, if you want to lose it). He mocks Tempo's flashy claims, his old Mercedes and his jewelry, and says he forgot the friends in prison: "te has olvidado hasta de los presos" (you've even forgotten the prisoners). He also honors a dead friend, "Que en paz descanse el Buddha" (rest in peace, Buddha), and repeats his advice never to shake the hand of someone who bit you twice. The slang is very Puerto Rican: chavos is money, bichotes are big-shot drug bosses, caseríos are public housing projects, and roncar means to brag, not to snore. Expect a lot of swearing and threats. The ending, with Santa riding his sleigh to collect a trophy for burying his rival, is his idea of a Christmas present.
