Enamorado means "in love" and is a core emotion in many songs, but here it's used to question the very nature of enduring love.
Paty Cantú asks, "Dime si sigues enamorado" (Tell me if you're still in love), directly confronting the idea that feelings might fade over time. This makes the word particularly poignant, as it sets up the central theme of a "different kind of love" that persists beyond initial passion.
"Un Amor Diferente" opens as a direct question — "Dime si has pensado, sigues enamorado" ["Tell me if you've thought, are you still in love"] — and spends the rest of the song answering it without flinching from the possibility that the answer might one day be no. The narrator isn't asking for a promise that nothing changes; she's asking what happens if it does, testing whether "el para siempre de tus besos" ["the forever of your kisses"] can survive time itself.
The chorus is the song's real proposal: even if the romance they share today runs out, something of it should remain. "Y si nuestro amor se acaba con el tiempo o el viento, aun así estarás por aquí" ["And if our love ends with time or the wind, even so, you'll be around"] — "serás parte de mi vida para siempre" ["you'll be part of my life forever"], just not in the same form. The closing line, "Un amor muy diferente" ["A very different love"], is the whole argument in three words: love doesn't have to end, it just has to change shape.
