Descifra'o is a colloquial, shortened form of "descifrado," which means "deciphered" or "figured out." It's an interesting choice because it's not a common everyday word, and its shortened form adds a touch of conversational authenticity.
In the song, Paty Cantú sings, "No te tengo descifra'o," meaning "I haven't figured you out." She uses this word to express her confusion and frustration with her partner's inconsistent behavior, highlighting her struggle to understand his true feelings and intentions.
Paty Cantú opens mid-thought and never finishes the sentence: "Vi dónde estamos, dónde" ("I saw where we are, where"), then lays out the two possibilities she cannot choose between — "Si te estoy perdiendo" ("if I'm losing you") or "O aún estás enamora'o" ("or you're still in love"). The chorus is the shrug itself, said three times over: "No lo sé, no lo sé, no lo sé" ("I don't know, I don't know, I don't know"). Rather than decide, she hands the question back — "¿Sombra o luz?" ("Shadow or light?"), "Yo no lo sé" ("I don't know"), "Dímelo tú" ("you tell me") — and again with the direction of travel: "Dime a dónde vamos" ("Tell me where we're going"), "Si norte o sur" ("north or south").
Arkano takes the second verse and puts a body in a room. He is "Sentado en la cama" ("sitting on the bed"), rubbing his face, trying to get back to the point where he first stopped understanding, and he measures the loss in what the relationship used to not cost: "Cuando no te costaba" ("when it didn't cost you"), "Cuando no me costaba" ("when it didn't cost me"). Both halves of the song land on the same movement — someone arriving and leaving in the same breath. "Vas acercándote tanto a lo que soñé" ("You keep getting so close to what I dreamed") is followed a line later by "Sé que te alejas de mí sin decir por qué" ("I know that you move away from me without saying why").
