DEL BARRIO PA LA CANCHA is a football chant dressed up as a pop song, and it doesn't pretend to be anything else. The title means "from the neighbourhood to the stadium": "pa'" is the spoken short form of "para", and "la cancha" is the pitch or the ground where the team plays. Then comes "Y en la cancha hasta el cajón" (and at the ground until the coffin), which is fan talk for supporting your team until the day you die. "Porque así es en Argentina, la redonda es la pasión": that's how it is in Argentina, "la redonda" (the round one) being slang for the ball.
The middle is pure terrace emotion: "Ya sufrí, ya lloré, ya perdí, ya gané" (I've suffered, I've cried, I've lost, I've won), a neat little drill of the past tense if you're learning. He toasts the players who "dejan sangre y sudor" (leave blood and sweat) and who "sienten la camiseta" (feel the shirt, meaning they really care about the club). The chorus is a promise any fan would sing: "Yo te sigo hasta donde vayas" (I'll follow you wherever you go), because "siempre te llevo adentro" (I always carry you inside), deep in the heart. Simple, loud and made for a stadium.
