Ana Tijoux, the Chilean rapper, slows right down here and raps about the smallest things that make a day worth living. The whole song hangs on one idea: "Vivir cada día como si fuese el primero" (live every day as if it were the first), and then she flips it, "y si es mi último día aún así sería el primero" (and if it's my last day, it would still be the first). It's a sweet little paradox, and it sets the tone.
Her version of happiness is wonderfully ordinary: "Sentarse en el parque comer chocolate" (sitting in the park eating chocolate), lying on the grass, finding shapes in "algodones de nubes" (cotton-wool clouds). One fun image for learners: "llegar hasta el cuesco" literally means reaching the fruit's pit, so she's saying she wants to eat life right down to the stone.
The chorus zooms out. "Estar contigo para mí es humanidad" (being with you, to me, is humanity), and simply living each moment is what makes her "parte del todo" (part of the whole). The last verse gets close and personal, wanting to sit with family, drop the problems and swap "anécdotas de infancia" (childhood stories). It's a warm, unhurried song, and a great one for practising the infinitive, since half the lines start with one.
