Sign languages, languages of the soul
Sign languages, two silent bodies, two bodies that speak
Hello, we invent our own language
Who would have told me, sign languages when your mouth touches mine
We talk nonstop, through skin with touch, through pores
There are no double meanings when the edge of your lip touches mine
You insist on the language of movement
Following the trail, monologues of attentive sighs
Speaking emotions on the memory of our thumbs
No periods or commas, no unequal accents
Two mouths moving silently, I told you with a thousand looks
I will remind you by touching you as many times as necessary
Our sign language doesn't need words
Sign languages, languages of the soul
Sign languages, two silent bodies, two bodies that speak
Sign languages, languages of the soul
Sign languages, two silent bodies, two bodies that speak
Hello, your leg crosses mine, my heart peeks out
Words are not enough when the soul overflows
There is no translation, love is not spoken
Love is made, a kiss will always have the right to interrupt the sentence
Two mouths moving silently, I told you with a thousand looks
I will remind you by touching you as many times as necessary
Our sign language doesn't need words
Sign languages, languages of the soul
Sign languages, two silent bodies, two bodies that speak
Sign languages, languages of the soul
Sign languages, two silent bodies, two bodies that speak
Si-si-si-sign languages moving, si-si-si-sign languages listen
Si-si-si-sign languages moving, si-si-si-si-si
Moans and sighs that condense a thousand words
Marks are written when I bite you and you scratch me
Vocal cords run out of air
They took away our speech, I look at you without seeing you, the senses shoot up
In a kiss, you will know everything I've kept silent
It's better not to tell you, it's better to do it

Macaco and Monsieur Periné take the idea of sign language and turn it into a love song about two people who barely need to talk. The hook says it plainly: "lenguas de signos, dos cuerpos callados, dos cuerpos que hablan" [sign languages, two silent bodies, two bodies that talk]. They even "inventamos nuestro propio idioma" [we invented our own language], one made of glances, lips and fingertips.

The fun is in how the song borrows grammar words for romance. Their language has "sin puntos ni comas, ni acentos desiguales" [no full stops or commas, no uneven accents], and "un beso siempre tendrá el derecho de interrumpir la frase" [a kiss will always have the right to interrupt the sentence]. Watch out for "hablamos por los codos": literally "we talk through our elbows", it is an everyday idiom for talking nonstop, which is a cheeky joke in a song about saying nothing out loud.

The best line is a little wordplay on love itself: "el amor no se habla, el amor se hace" [love isn't spoken, love is made]. "Hacer el amor" means to make love, so the song is winking at you. It ends with the same idea, "mejor no te lo digo, mejor lo hago" [better not to tell you, better to just do it].
