Grignani wrote this one straight to a woman named Francy, and he doesn't dress it up. He opens by admitting he's been avoiding her call out of "Paura di sbagliare un'altra volta con me" [fear of getting it wrong with me again], then spends the whole song trying to talk her down: "Francy non piangere, con me puoi ridere" [Francy, don't cry, with me you can laugh]. He knows he's the problem too: "Tu vivi troppo di fretta ed io in fondo ho paura di non tenerti più stretta" [you live too fast, and deep down I'm scared I won't hold you close enough], which is a strange thing to admit in a love song, but it's why this one still gets requested at his shows.
The middle section is where he actually says what he wants, plainly: "Vorrei portarti al mare, riuscire a essere a casa per natale" [I'd like to take you to the sea, to actually be home for Christmas], then, almost offhand, "Vorrei avere un figlio, e se poi fosse uno sbaglio?" [I'd like to have a kid, and what if that's a mistake too?]. He calls himself funny and lets her laugh at him instead of pretending he's got it together. By the end he's repeating the one line he can't quite let go of: "Ma non voglio perderti ancora" [but I don't want to lose you again]. Not a resolution, just a guy still working it out.
