I am one of those who dream of freedom
Captain of a sailboat with no sea
I am one of those who spend their lives searching for a place
I am Don Quixote of a time that knows no age
And I like people who are genuine
Being a bohemian, a poet, and a rogue suits me just fine
I’m a singer of silences who doesn’t live in peace
Who boasts of being Spanish wherever he goes
And my Dulcinea, where could you be?
For your love isn’t easy to find
And I see your face in every woman
So many times I dreamed that I was dreaming of your love—no
I’m happy with a glass of wine and a piece of bread
And, of course, with caviar and champagne too
I’m that vagabond who doesn’t live in peace
And I’m not satisfied with anything—with everything and more
I’m afraid of time, which slips away so easily
Of people who talk, who give too many opinions
And the thing is, I come from a world that lies beyond
I am Don Quixote of a time that knows no age
And my Dulcinea, where could you be?
For your love isn’t easy to find
And I see your face in every woman
So many times I dreamed that I was dreaming of your love
So many times I dreamed that I was dreaming of your lo-o-ove

Quijote is David Bisbal casting himself as Don Quixote, the dreamer from Cervantes' novel who rode out chasing ideals nobody else could see. He's "capitán de un velero que no tiene mar" (captain of a sailboat with no sea) and "Quijote de un tiempo que no tiene edad" (a Quixote of a time with no age). He likes people "que es de verdad" (who are real), and he's happy to be "bohemio, poeta y golfo" (bohemian, poet and a bit of a rascal). Golfo is a fun word: a charming scoundrel, not a gulf.

The chorus goes looking for his Dulcinea, Don Quixote's idealised lady, here standing in for a love that "no es fácil de encontrar" (isn't easy to find). He sees her face in every woman and dreamed so many times "que soñaba tu querer" (that I was dreaming of your love). The second verse is honest about his contradictions: "Soy feliz con un vino y un trozo de pan" (I'm happy with a glass of wine and a piece of bread), and then, "como no" (of course), also with caviar and champagne. He wants nothing, everything, and more, which is about as Quixote as it gets.
