Siempre Te Voy A Querer Lyrics in English by Calibre 50
Tonterías translates to "foolishness" or "nonsense". It's a fun and very authentic Spanish word that you might not find in a standard textbook.
In this heartfelt song, the singer promises to love his partner unconditionally, accepting all their imperfections. He sings, "Aún con mis locuras y mis tonterías" (Even with my craziness and my foolishness), using this word to refer to the silly, quirky, or nonsensical things that make a person unique, showing a love that is deep and real.
If you want an honest love declaration without any glossy Hollywood filters, this track by Mexican group Calibre 50 hits the mark. The singer openly admits right away that relationship life gets messy: “A lo mejor no todo es perfecto pero se soluciona con besos” ("Maybe not everything is perfect, but it gets solved with kisses"). He owns up to his flaws, confessing “Igual te hago enojar, hasta a veces llorar” ("I still make you angry, sometimes even cry"). There is no pretending to be a saint here. Instead, he shrugs at his own quirks, using the everyday Spanish words locuras (craziness) and tonterías (foolish antics) to describe the baggage he brings to the table.
Yet behind all the candid self-deprecation, the core promise could not be clearer. He answers curious friends by stating she is the love of his life, promising to re-win her heart every single day: “Me aseguraré de enamorarte cada día” ("I will make sure to make you fall in love every day"). Right in the middle of this heartfelt oath, he throws in the affectionate Mexican spoken shout-out “Calibre 50 Chiquitita”, where chiquitita (literally "tiny little girl") works as a warm, classic pet name for a sweetheart. He wraps up with a commitment that runs all the way to wedding-vow territory: “Hasta que la muerte, un día nos separe” ("Until death, one day parts us"). It is sweet, blunt, and refreshingly down-to-earth.
