Apologize (Pedir perdón)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Me aferro a tu cuerda

El tema arranca con una imagen bastante extrema: "I'm holding on your rope, got me ten feet off the ground" (Estoy colgando de tu cuerda, me tienes a tres metros del suelo). You tell me that you need me, then you go and cut me down").

I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue").

Apologize (Chiedere scusa)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

L'immagine iniziale è molto forte: "I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground" (Mi tengo alla tua corda / A tre metri da terra). Si sente completamente in balia dell'altra persona, sospeso e senza controllo.

Il cantante descrive un ciclo di manipolazione emotiva: prima si sente dire "that you need me" (che hai bisogno di me), e subito dopo viene abbattuto, "then you go and cut me down" (poi vai e mi butti giù).

Apologize (Извиниться)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

В самом начале рассказчик описывает себя как человека, который полностью зависит от другого: «I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground» (Я держусь за твою верёвку / В десяти футах над землёй).

Когда звучит очередное извинение, рассказчик наконец находит в себе силы сказать: «it's too late to apologize» (слишком поздно извиняться).

Apologize
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

Apologize (Pedir desculpas)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Estou segurando sua corda
Me deixou a dez pés do chão

A letra começa logo de cara com uma imagem bem dramática: "I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground" (Estou me segurando na sua corda / Você me deixou a três metros do chão). Then you go and cut me down"). É uma dinâmica cansativa de puxa-e-empurra.

O ponto alto é a virada de mesa no refrão: "It's too late to apologize" (É tarde demais para pedir desculpas).

Apologize
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

In einem Moment hörst du „You tell me that you need me“ (Du sagst mir, dass du mich brauchst), und im nächsten Moment „you go and cut me down“ (lässt du mich fallen).

Apologize (Iertare)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

Persoana cealaltă îi spune că are nevoie de el, apoi îl doboară.

Refrenul este o declarație finală și fermă: „It's too late to apologize” (E prea târziu să-ți ceri scuze).

Apologize (Przepraszam)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

Zaczyna od mocnego obrazu: „I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground” (Trzymam się twojej liny / Unosisz mnie dziesięć stóp nad ziemią).

Mimo że przeprosiny brzmią pięknie, „Sorry like an angel” (Przepraszasz jak anioł), zaufanie zostało zniszczone. To hymn dla każdego, kto w końcu znalazł siłę, by powiedzieć „dość”.

I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Držim se tvog konopca
Držiš me deset stopa iznad zemlje
I čujem šta govoriš

Timbaland i OneRepublic u pesmi Apologize govore upravo o tom trenutku kada povučeš granicu. Pesma počinje jakom slikom: I'm holding on your rope, got me ten feet off the ground (Držim se za tvoj konopac, podigla si me tri metra od zemlje). Pevač opisuje potpunu zavisnost od druge osobe, gde te ona prvo podigne, a onda ti kaže da joj trebaš samo da bi te sasekla (Then you go and cut me down). Sve se menja kada stiže čuveni refren: It's too late to apologize, it's too late (Prekasno je za izvinjenje, prekasno je).

Priznaje da bi primio metak za nju (Take a shot for you), ali zatim dodaje: I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue (Voleo sam te crvenom vatrom, sada postaje plava). Crvena vatra označava strast i ljubav, dok plava boja ovde predstavlja hlađenje, led i kraj emocija. Iako se druga strana kaje i zvuči nevino (Sorry like an angel / Izvini kao anđeo), on ostaje čvrst. Odlična pesma za učenje izraza o vezama, razočaranju i postavljanju ličnih granica.

Apologize (Undskylde)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Jeg holder fast i dit reb
Har mig tre meter over jorden

Forestil dig at hænge i et reb ti fod over jorden, helt magtesløs: "I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground" (Jeg holder fast i dit reb / Har mig ti fod over jorden). Den anden person skifter konstant mening; det ene øjeblik er der brug for én, og i det næste kapper de rebet: "You tell me that you need me / Then you go and cut me down" (Du fortæller mig, at du har brug for mig / Så går du hen og hugger mig ned). Det engelske udtryk "cut me down" betyder helt bogstaveligt at fælde nogen eller skære rebet over, men i hverdagen betyder det at ydmyge eller svigte en person hårdt.

Sangeren indrømmer ærligt, at han ville have taget en kugle for personen: "take a shot for you" (tage et skud for dig).

If We Ever Meet Again (Si Alguna Vez Nos Volvemos A Encontrar)
What's somebody like you
Doing in a place like this?
Say did you come alone
Or did you bring all your friends?
Qué hace alguien como tú
En un lugar como este?
Dime, ¿viniste solo?

I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
İpine tutunuyorum
Beni yerden on fit yukarıda tutuyorsun

I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground" (Senin ipine tutunuyorum / Yerden üç metre havadayım). Karşı taraf onu havada asılı bırakmış, sonra da kesip yere düşürmüş: "You tell me that you need me / Then you go and cut me down" (Bana ihtiyacın olduğunu söylüyorsun / Sonra gidip beni yere seriyorsun).

Karşı taraf af diliyor ama artık nafile: "It's too late to apologize" (Özür dilemek için çok geç). Anlatıcı vaktiyle onun için kurşunun önüne atlayacağını söylüyor: "take a shot for you" (senin için vurulmayı göze alırdım). Hatta aşkını alev rengiyle tarif ediyor: "I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue" (Seni ateş kırmızısıyla sevdim, şimdi maviye dönüyor). Ateş soğuyor, geriye sadece kapıyı yüzüne kapatan o net ve tavizsiz söz kalıyor.

I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Jeg holder i tauet ditt
Har meg tre meter over bakken

I «Apologize» henger sangeren bokstavelig talt i løse luften. Bildet «I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground» («Jeg holder fast i repet ditt / Har meg tre meter over bakken») setter stemningen umiddelbart. Den andre personen styrer hele situasjonen, sier «you need me» («du trenger meg»), bare for å kutte tauet rett etterpå.

Svaret hamres inn uten nåde: «It's too late to apologize» («Det er for sent å be om unnskyldning»). Enkelt, sårt og befriende rett fram når begeret endelig renner over!

Apologize (Ospravedlniť sa)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Držím sa tvojho lana
Drží ma desať stôp nad zemou
A počujem, čo hovoríš
Ale jednoducho nemôžem vydať zvuk

Poznáš ten pocit, keď niekto prekročí hranicu a jednoducho už niet cesty späť? Presne o tom hovorí hit Apologize od amerického producenta Timbalanda a kapely OneRepublic. Ryan Tedder tu spieva o niekom, kto ho neustále ťahá hore a vzápätí zhadzuje na zem: „You tell me that you need me / Then you go and cut me down“ (Hovoríš mi, že ma potrebuješ, a potom ma podkopneš). Fráza „cut someone down“ doslova znamená niekoho zoťať ako strom, no v bežnej reči opisuje situáciu, keď ťa niekto poníži alebo zraní presne vo chvíli, keď sa cítiš najzraniteľnejší. Spevák priznáva, že pre druhého bol ochotný urobiť čokoľvek: „Take a fall, take a shot for you“ (Spadnúť, schytať za teba guľku). Táto obrazná reč o schytaní guľky („take a shot“) vyjadruje extrémnu obetu, akú človek prináša v láske.

Lenže každá trpezlivosť má svoj limit. Keď potom príde ospravedlnenie, ktoré znie nevinne ako z neba – „Sorry like an angel“ (Prepáč ako od anjela) –, odpoveďou je už len chladné a nekompromisné odmietnutie. Plameň jednoducho vyhasol: „I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue“ (Ľúbil som ťa červeným ohňom, teraz sa mení na modrý). Zatiaľ čo červená značí spaľujúcu vášeň, modrý plameň tu pôsobí chladne a cudzo. Hlavný refrén „It's too late to apologize“ (Už je neskoro ospravedlňovať sa) neponúka žiadne druhé šance ani kompromisy. Je to rázne zatvorenie dverí pred niekým, kto si myslel, že mu prejde úplne všetko.

Apologize (Вибачатися)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

Цей трек починається з дуже наочного й майже моторошного образу: герой висить на висоті десяти футів, тримаючись за чужу мотузку — «I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground» (Я тримаюся за твою мотузку, підняла мене на десять футів над землею). Але замість допомоги людина навпроти перерізає цей канат: «You tell me that you need me / Then you go and cut me down» (Ти кажеш, що я тобі потрібен, а потім береш і підрізаєш мене). Коли ж партнерка раптом просить вибачення, герой нарешті знаходить голос, щоб відрізати: «It's too late to apologize» (Занадто пізно вибачатися).

Найбільше мені подобається, як тут показано згасання почуттів через зміну кольору полум'я: «I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue» (Я любив тебе червоним вогнем, тепер він стає синім).

Apologize (Vabanda)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Ma hoian kinni sinu köiest
See pani mind kümme jalga maast lahti

Ameerika produtsendi Timbalandi ja OneRepublicu lugu räägib just sellest hetkest, mil mõõt saab lõplikult täis. Laulja kirjeldab end ohtlikult rippumas: "I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground" (Hoian kinni su köiest / Olen kolme meetri kõrgusel maapinnast). Kui teine lõpuks vabandust palub, kõlab vastusena loo kõige kuulsam ja resoluutsem lause: "It's too late to apologize" (On liiga hilja vabandada).

I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue" (Armastasin sind tulipunase leegiga, nüüd muutub see siniseks). Teine oskab vabandada nagu ingel ("Sorry like an angel"), aga sellest ei piisa enam. Väljend "take a shot for you" (sinu eest kuuli vastu võtma) näitab, kui kaugele ta oli varem valmis teise nimel minema, ent korduv reetmine tõmbab kõigele kriipsu peale.

Apologize (Pedir desculpa)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Estou a segurar-me à tua corda
Pôs-me a três metros do chão

A letra abre logo com um nó na garganta: "I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground" (Estou agarrado à tua corda / Puseste-me a três metros do chão). É uma imagem bem visual e quase sufocante. A pessoa diz que precisa de ti, mas logo a seguir corta-te as pernas ("You tell me that you need me / Then you go and cut me down" [Dizes-me que precisas de mim / Depois vais e deitas-me abaixo]).

I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue").

Apologize (Verontschuldigen)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

De zanger hangt letterlijk in de lucht door toedoen van de ander: "I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground" (Ik hou me vast aan jouw touw / Je houdt me drie meter boven de grond).

Heti alussa laulaja kuvailee olevansa pulassa: ”I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground” (”Pidän kiinni köydestäsi / sait minut kymmenen jalkaa irti maasta”). Vertauskuva on melko raju. Toinen osapuoli sanoo tarvitsevansa häntä, mutta katkaiseekin heti perään köyden: ”You tell me that you need me / Then you go and cut me down” (”Sanot tarvitsevasi minua / sitten menet ja leikkaat minut alas”). Englannin ilmaus cut someone down tarkoittaa tässä yhteydessä toisen nujertamista tai jalkojen vetämistä alta, vaikka sananmukaisesti se viittaa juuri tuon köyden katkaisemiseen.

Vaikka kertoja myöntää avoimesti, että toinen on ollut hänelle elintärkeä – ”I need you like a heart needs a beat” (”Tarvitsen sinua niin kuin sydän tarvitsee lyöntiä”) – mitta on silti tullut täyteen. I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue”. Toisen katumus tulee liian myöhään, vaikka tämä pyytäisi anteeksi kuinka kiltisti: ”You say / Sorry like an angel” (”Sanot / anteeksi kuin enkeli”). Kertsin viesti onkin suora ja tyly: ”It's too late to apologize” (”On liian myöhäistä pyytää anteeksi”). Se on lopullinen ei.

Apologize (Извинявам се)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

Още в началото героят буквално виси във въздуха: "I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground" (Държа се за твоето въже / Вдигнал си ме на десет фута над земята). Метафората тук е безмилостна: другият държи въжето, контролира ситуацията, казва "You tell me that you need me" (Казваш ми, че имаш нужда от мен), но веднага след това прерязва опората: "Then you go and cut me down" (А после просто ме срязваш и ме събаряш).

Любовта им някога е горяла ярко, но пламъкът е изстинал: "I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue" (Обичах те с огнено червено, сега става синьо).

Apologize (Omluvit se)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Držím se tvého lana
Mám deset stop nad zemí
A slyším, co říkáš
Ale prostě nemůžu vydat zvuk

Znáš ten pocit, kdy někomu dáš celé své srdce a on tě prostě odstřihne? Přesně o tom mluví tenhle mega hit od producenta Timbalanda a kapely OneRepublic. Zpěvák začíná hodně drsným obrazem: „I'm holding on your rope / Got me ten feet off the ground“ (Držím se tvého provazu / máš mě deset stop nad zemí). Visí ve vzduchu, závislý na druhém člověku, a když už se zdá, že ho dotyčný potřebuje, přijde zrada: „Then you go and cut me down“ (A pak mě odřízneš). Vztah přirovnává k absolutní nutnosti: „I need you like a heart needs a beat“ (Potřebuji tě, jako srdce potřebuje tlukot), jenže i ta největší vášeň vyhoří. V textu zazní skvělé přirovnání barev ohně: „I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue“ (Miloval jsem tě rudým ohněm, teď modrá).

Zpívá se tu: „You say / Sorry like an angel, heaven let me think was you“ (Říkáš „promiň“ jako anděl, nebe mě nechalo věřit, že jsi to ty). Andělská nevinnost je ale jen maska. Místo odpuštění přichází nekompromisní verdikt a hlavní hláška celé skladby: „It's too late to apologize“ (Je příliš pozdě na omluvu). Žádná druhá šance, žádné slitování. Timbaland tomu dal úderný hiphopový rytmus, díky kterému ta slova znějí ještě rozhodněji. Pokaždé, když ten refrén slyším, mám chuť všem lidem z minulosti zavřít dveře před nosem.

Apologize (Ζητώ συγγνώμη)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound

Έχεις νιώσει ποτέ ότι κάποιος σε κρατάει κυριολεκτικά ξεκρέμαστο; Ο Timbaland και οι OneRepublic χτίζουν όλο το κομμάτι πάνω σε μια έντονη εικόνα: «I'm holding on your rope, got me ten feet off the ground» (Κρέμομαι από το σχοινί σου, με έχεις τρία μέτρα πάνω από το έδαφος). Το πρόσωπο αυτό λέει «you need me» (με χρειάζεσαι) και αμέσως μετά κόβει το σχοινί («cut me down»).

Όταν όμως έρχεται η συγγνώμη («you tell me that you're sorry»), το παιχνίδι αλλάζει. Η απάντηση είναι κοφτή: «It's too late to apologize» (Είναι πολύ αργά για να ζητήσεις συγγνώμη). Λέει «I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue» (Σε αγάπησα με μια κόκκινη φωτιά, τώρα γίνεται μπλε).

Apologize (Ispričaj se)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
Držim se tvog užeta
Drži me deset stopa iznad zemlje
I čujem što govoriš
Ali jednostavno ne mogu ispustiti glasa

Svi smo barem jednom čuli onu ispriku koja stiže prekasno, a američki producent Timbaland i bend OneRepublic u ovom hitu to pogađaju točno u sridu. Pjevač počinje s prilično dramatičnom slikom: "I'm holding on your rope, got me ten feet off the ground" (Držim se za tvoje uže, držiš me tri metra iznad zemlje). Uže ovdje nije planinarska oprema, nego metafora za potpunu ovisnost o tuđoj milosti. Druga strana govori da ga treba, a onda ga hladno presiječe ("cut me down"). Kad napokon stigne to pokajničko "I'm sorry", odgovor je jednostavan, hladan i odrješit: "It's too late to apologize" (Prekasno je za ispriku).

Posebno mi je jak dio gdje opisuje kako se ljubav gasila kroz boje vatre: "I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue" (Volio sam te crvenom vatrom, sad postaje plava). Crvena vatra pršti od vrućine, a plavi plamen djeluje hladno i strano. Priznaje da bi prije primio metak za nju ("take a shot for you"), ali granica je prijeđena. Druga osoba se možda ispričava poput anđela ("Sorry like an angel"), no to više ne pali.
