"Mayonesa" (Mayonnaise) is a live party cumbia, and it opens like one: Eden Muñoz asks the crowd ¿Ya se cansaron, Guadalajara? (Are you tired already, Guadalajara?) and promises to meterle ambiente a esta onda (liven this thing up). Onda is everyday Mexican slang for "thing" or "vibe", so think "let's get this party going".
The story is simple and pretty funny. He spots a mysterious girl with Un tatuaje en la espalda (a tattoo on her back) and a black miniskirt. Their eyes lock, and without a word she Me agarró fuerte la cara / Y a la pista me arrastró (grabbed my face hard and dragged me onto the dance floor).
Then the hook: Ella me bate como haciendo mayonesa (She shakes me up like she's making mayonnaise). Batir means to whisk or beat, the same verb as in the chant Bate que bate chocolate (whisk, whisk the chocolate), a playful kids' rhyme turned into a dance chant. Between the dancing and Todo lo que había tomado (everything I'd drunk), he ends up not knowing ni cómo me llamo, ni dónde vivo (my own name or where I live). The punchline is that his friends had to tell him where they found him. A silly, very danceable mess.
