Dame Luz Lyrics in English by Cultura Profética
Desvanecernos is a reflexive verb meaning 'to vanish' or 'to fade away'. It's a beautiful and somewhat dramatic word that evokes a sense of dissolving or disappearing.
In "Dame Luz," the phrase "Desvanecernos en este incendio" (To vanish/fade away in this fire) suggests a powerful, all-consuming passion where two people lose themselves completely in the moment. It's a poetic way to describe an intense, almost transcendent experience, making it a captivating word choice for a song about deep connection and seeking clarity.
Have you ever felt completely lost, even in familiar surroundings? Cultura Profética's "Dame Luz" [Give Me Light] perfectly captures that feeling of being adrift. The singer admits, "Ya no logro concentrar mi amor" [I can no longer concentrate my love] and "De momento no me siento en casa" [Suddenly I don't feel at home]. It's like he's losing his way in conversations and in his own story, asking for clarity because he feels like he's not himself anymore, saying "No me veo en nadie más" [I don't see myself in anyone else].
He's searching for guidance, pleading, "Dame luz, claridad, si me pierdo" [Give me light, clarity, if I get lost]. He wants context for the "plot of your story" if there's no script, and even if he's lost "entre la lluvia y el fuego" [between the rain and the fire], he just needs "viento" [wind] and he'll do the rest. It's a beautiful way to ask for help to navigate through confusion, hoping a kiss can "quítame el suspenso" [take away the suspense] and allow them to "Desvanecernos en este incendio" [Fade away in this fire], running towards it and watching it burn.
