Alex Ubago, the Spanish singer-songwriter, does what he does best here: a quiet, aching ballad about realising too late. It opens with "Cuando quise darme cuenta ya era tarde" [by the time I realised, it was already too late], and the details are small and sharp: she took "casi todo el equipaje" [almost all the luggage] but left "tus caricias en mi piel" [your caresses on my skin].
The best image is the house itself grieving: "todas las paredes de esta casa parecen llorar" [all the walls of this house seem to cry]. Then the chorus turns from looking back to looking for something new: "Sigo buscando una sonrisa que vuelva a darme la vida" [I keep looking for a smile that gives me life again]. Learner tip: echar de menos means "to miss someone", so "echándote de menos en silencio" is "missing you in silence". And "darse cuenta" (to realise) shows up in almost every verse, so you'll have it memorised by the end.
