Monroe is the French American soprano who turned a TV talent show win into a Eurovision moment. She was born Monroe Vata Rigby in Salt Lake City in 2008 and grew up in Utah, where she sang in her church choir, learned piano, and trained her voice for the classical repertoire. Her mother is French with roots in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which gave her a second passport and a second musical language.
She became a household name in France by winning the eleventh season of the talent show Prodiges in January 2025, which came with a scholarship and a deal with Warner Classics. Her self titled debut album followed in November 2025 and went to number one on the French classical chart. In 2026 she represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with "Regarde !", finishing eleventh with 158 points, all at the age of seventeen.
