Matheus Rizzo grew up in Franca, a city in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, where he joined a children's choir at his Adventist church at just seven years old. He started piano lessons at nine, and by twelve he was already running the sound board and playing during services.
He went on to study piano at the Souza Lima Conservatory in São Paulo and trained as an audio engineer in Ribeirão Preto. At twenty-two he released his first project, a DVD called Invisível, and he still owns a recording studio back in Franca, where he produces, arranges, and records much of his own material.
Rizzo now leads worship from Brasília, and his YouTube channel has passed 550,000 subscribers with well over 135 million views. He has put out more than fifty singles and over 200 music videos, most of them rooted in the same Adventist faith he grew up in. His songs favor simple, repeatable choruses that a whole congregation can pick up in seconds, which is a big part of why they travel so fast online.
