Kofs, whose real name is Foued Nabba, is a French rapper and actor born in Marseille in 1990 to a family of Algerian origin. He grew up in the city's Air Bel neighborhood as one of five children, and it was his older brothers who first got him into rap, playing him artists like IAM, Rohff, and Kery James. He started writing his own lyrics at sixteen and posted them online, where a producer heard something in his rough, deep voice and brought him into the studio.
His stage name comes from the initials of his own first name and three childhood friends: Khaled, Omar, Foued, and Sofiane. He co-founded the collective Click 11.43 with fellow rappers Naps and Sahim before breaking out on his own with tracks like "Paradis" and "Genèse." His debut album, V, arrived in 2018, and he returned to the spotlight the following year with "Tout s'achète" alongside Alonzo. Alongside music, Kofs has built a steady acting career, appearing in films including Chouf, BAC Nord, and Banlieusards 2.
