"La Despedida" (The Goodbye) opens with a line nobody can argue with: "A nadie le gustan las despedidas" (nobody likes goodbyes). LIT killah and Gera MX are singing about a breakup they both know is final. "Los dos sabemos que no importa cuanto lo intentemos no se nos da" (we both know that no matter how hard we try, it doesn't work out for us), and staying together is just "tirándole sal a la herida" (rubbing salt in the wound), the same idiom English uses.
The verses are full of fun Spanish expressions. "Me volví tu martes trece" (I became your Tuesday the 13th) is a great one: in Spanish-speaking countries the unlucky day is Tuesday the 13th, not Friday. "Ya no le llegan mis cartas a su código postal" (my letters don't reach her postcode anymore) is a sweet old-school way of saying she has cut contact. And the line "Soy un Michael Jackson, siempre haciendo un paso atrás" (I'm a Michael Jackson, always taking a step back) is a cheeky moonwalk joke about never moving forward. It ends on "Quizás te vea en otra vida" (maybe I'll see you in another life), which is about as gentle as a goodbye gets.
