Brenner formed in 2018 in Gifhorn and Berlin, built around frontmen Markus Siebert and Martin Goldenbaum, who share vocals and guitar. Guitarist Marc Beierstedt, bassist Volker Schlag, and drummer Mario Enrico Oliva round out the German rock band. Their first big show happened in a disused train station in Gifhorn that Schlag had turned into a live venue, a fitting start for a group that calls its own sound rock music with German lyrics made for bikers.
That description lands somewhere between the force of German-language rock and the dusty grit of American Southern rock. Producer Vincent Sorg, who has worked with Broilers and Die Toten Hosen, helped shape their self-titled debut album, released in March 2019 and a top 30 hit on the German charts. "Alles Was Ich Will" was the title track for the sixth season of Promi Big Brother, and a later stint on the show Alle singen Kaiser pushed them to start reworking classic Schlager hits with their own rock edge.
