LA NUEVA ESCUELA is a plena band from Montevideo, Uruguay, fronted by the singer Jonathan Suárez Gularte.
They play plena and candombe with a younger, more urban production, and their run of viral singles has put several songs into Uruguay's Spotify Top 50 at once. They have headlined Montevideo's Antel Arena and taken their shows abroad, including a first concert in Lima in 2025.
