Hasta El Amanecer Lyrics in English by Nicky Jam

Amanecer can be both a noun for "dawn" and a verb meaning "to dawn". It's a poetic word often used in Spanish music to describe the magic of a night turning into day.

In the song's chorus, Nicky Jam repeats his desire to "quedarme contigo hasta el amanecer" (stay with you until dawn). This single word captures the entire romantic theme of the song: a connection so strong you want it to last all night until the sun comes up.

In this classic party track, Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Nicky Jam locks eyes with a stranger on the dance floor and immediately throws all normal introductions out the window. The entire premise rests on pure, instant attraction: he sings, ¿Cómo tú te llamas? Yo no sé / ¿De dónde llegaste? Ni pregunté ("What is your name? I do not know / Where did you come from? I did not even ask"). He does not care about her name or where she is from because he is already hooked. When he spots her dancing alone, he invites her to leave the party with him to spend the night together, promising Rumbeando y bebiendo a la vez ("Partying and drinking at the same time"). In Spanish, the slang verb rumbear means to go out clubbing, dance, or have a wild night out.

The fun part of the story is the contrast between his intense flirting and her grounded reaction. He whispers in her ear that he is already falling for her (Yo te estoy queriendo / Siento algo por dentro - "I am loving you / I feel something inside"), but she immediately checks him by answering, Estás muy loco, deja eso ("You are crazy, stop that"). It is a funny, realistic exchange where he is completely caught up in the beat and her dance moves (Con ese movimiento me hipnotizas - "With that movement you hypnotize me"), pushing for an all-night adventure while she laughs off his over-the-top charm.
