Superstar Lyrics in English by Pitbull, Becky G
Vista larga literally means "long view," but it's a powerful expression for having foresight and a long-term vision.
In this motivational anthem, Pitbull shares his philosophy for success with the line, "Pasos cortos, vista larga" (Short steps, long view). It's a piece of advice to take small, deliberate actions every day while always keeping your ultimate goal in sight, making it a surprisingly deep and inspiring phrase for a party track.
Pitbull teams up with Becky G to build a high-octane stadium party that demands you put your hands up and move. He directly shouts out the "Copa América" football tournament, dedicating the rhythm to "la gente en el barrio" (the people in the neighborhood) and "la gente en la lucha" (the people in the struggle). When Pitbull chants "fo' sho'", he is using relaxed English slang for "for sure", signaling that he is down for whatever happens next. He tells everyone across every country to wave their flags and push forward with the mantra "sigue, sigue" (keep going, keep going). The mood is relentless motivation mixed with pure club sweat.
Becky G takes over the chorus with dramatic pop flair. She sings about a love so intense that "your touch, like poison, is running through my veins." Then, she declares that the two of them are "like Bonnie and Clyde." That is a shout-out to the famous real-life American outlaw couple from the 1930s, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, who robbed banks together. In English pop music, calling yourselves Bonnie and Clyde means you are a ride-or-die team taking on the whole world side by side. Between Pitbull promising to fight "hasta la muerte" (until death) and Becky promising that "we will be superstars," the track turns a sports tournament anthem into a massive victory lap.
