This is a victory lap from Gera MX and Solo Cadaver, two rappers from the Mexican underground who say they are "tumbando la casa" (bringing the house down). The hook, "Mi gente se la sabe, cuando el corrido acabe" (my people know it, when the corrido ends), plays on the corrido, Mexico's ballad tradition, and the chant "Arriba el cadáver" (up with the corpse) is partly a nod to Solo Cadaver's own name. They even clarify: "No hablo de tus muertos" (I'm not talking about your dead).
The verses are pure hustle story. "No había camino, lo trazamos" (there was no road, we drew it), and "donde come uno hasta para cuatro completamos" (where one eats, we made it stretch for four) paints growing up with little. They brag about platinum records that no longer fit on the wall, call themselves "arquitecto del under, empresario del mainstream" (architect of the underground, businessman of the mainstream), and admit they "solo quería billetes y un Mercedes como 50" (just wanted cash and a Mercedes like 50 Cent). Heads up: it's blunt. "Nos vale verga tu rating" is a vulgar Mexican way of saying they don't give a damn about your rating, and "sapos" (toads) is slang for snitches, which is why they won't do a collab with them.
