The song works one sense at a time. Her images are the ones that stay: "Soy tu pirata, vos so' mi tesoro" (I'm your pirate, you're my treasure), and then a request passed up the sky — "A la luna le pido, le imploro que le pida al sol que nunca se termine la noche" (I ask the moon, I implore it to ask the sun to never let the night end). What both of them are asking for is the night, not the morning after.
