„Wait and Bleed” este ca o scenă dintr-un thriller psihologic: ascultăm gândurile unui personaj care își simte furia cum fierbe, gata să-l transforme într-o versiune de nerecunoscut. Versurile vorbesc despre tremurul necontrolat, halucinații ca într-un film 3D și sentimentul că realitatea se sfărâmă sub presiunea urii. Refrenul repetitiv – “I've felt the hate rise up in me… Inside my shell I wait and bleed” – este un cronometru interior: eroul știe că explozia e inevitabilă și tot ce poate face este să aștepte, sângerând metaforic în propria „carapace”.
