Halo Lyrics in English by Samurai Jay, Vito Salamanca
Bugie means "lies" in Italian. It's a strong and emotionally charged word that stands out in the lyrics, conveying a sense of betrayal or deceit.
In the song, the artist sings, "Vivere di bugie se è un'altra la verità" (To live on lies if the truth is another). This line highlights a central theme of authenticity versus pretense, making bugie a key word for understanding the song's emotional depth and narrative.
The title only works out loud. Italians answer the phone with "pronto," and the song sets that right next to the English word in "Mi cerchi ancora, giorno e notte, pronto, halo" (You still reach out to me, day and night, hello, halo). Whoever is calling is no angel with a ring of light over her head. She is just calling, constantly: "Mille messaggi, mille chiamate sull'iPhone" (A thousand messages, a thousand calls on the iPhone). He lets it ring. "Prima morivo per te, mo non ti richiamo" (Before I was dying for you, now I don't call you back), and then the flattest line on the record, "Sorry, sono occupato" (Sorry, I'm busy).
The hook is built on a double negative that takes a second to land. "Baby, sei tu che non mi manchi" (Baby, you're the one I don't miss) is an odd thing to sing three times, and singing it three times is what gives it away. The second half stops arguing with her and starts driving: "Adrenalina, tolgo il piede dal freno" (Adrenaline, I take my foot off the brake), then the best line here, "L'unica arma a volte è la calma" (Sometimes the only weapon is calm). The verdict on the relationship arrives as film criticism, "Non è love, era un film" (It wasn't love, it was a movie), and the two of them settle into "Due pianeti diversi" (Two different planets), "Sconosciuti e contenti" (Strangers and happy about it). Whether you believe that "contenti" (happy) is the whole song.
