Matheus Fernandes is a Brazilian singer-songwriter born in Fortaleza in 1991. Before turning to music, he worked in political marketing, and he taught himself guitar after receiving one as a gift from friends.
He built his sound around forró roots blended with sertanejo and electronic beats, and he first made a name for himself as a songwriter, penning hits like "Mulherada na Lancha" and "Chama o Samu" for Wesley Safadão. His own breakthrough came in 2019 with "Sonâmbulo," a song that went viral online and became a Carnival favorite.
In 2021, he teamed up with fellow Brazilian singer Dilsinho for "Baby Me Atende," which became one of the biggest hits of his career, reaching the top of the charts on Deezer and Spotify Brazil. Dilsinho, born Dilson Scher Neto in Rio de Janeiro, is one of Brazil's most popular pagode singers, known for hits like "Trovão" and "Refém."
