"Amor Platónico" is a norteño crush song, and an honest one. The singer knows from the first line that she is "algo inalcanzable" (something out of reach), yet he stays "necio por tenerte" (stubborn about having you). Most of his romance happens in his head: "Hago fantasías contigo en mi mente cochambrosa" (I make up fantasies with you in my grubby mind). Cochambrosa literally means filthy or greasy, so he is cheerfully admitting his daydreams are not exactly innocent.
The chorus explains the title. She is "la fruta prohibida" (the forbidden fruit), the two of them together is impossible, so he will "te adoro en silencio, desde lejos" (adore you in silence, from afar). In the second verse he bargains down to almost nothing: just five minutes alone, "si no es más, con esos tengo" (if it's no more than that, that's enough for me). And in the spoken break he teases her, "Chiquita, así estás de trompuda, ¿quieres beso?" (Little one, with your lips all pouted like that, do you want a kiss?). Trompuda comes from trompa, a playful Mexican word for lips or a snout, so it is a cheeky, affectionate jab.
