"Mami" by HUGEL with Neton Vega is a short, looping club track built on one stubborn thought: the singer cannot get someone out of his head. It opens with "Mami, es que miro la cama" (Babe, it's that I look at the bed) "y no me olvido de ti" (and I don't forget you). The empty bed is the whole story in one image.
"Mami" here is not "mom". In Latin pop it is a flirty way to address a woman, close to "babe" or "baby". The chorus turns blunt with "Tú eres mi cocaína, sube mi adrenalina" (You are my cocaine, you raise my adrenaline), calling her an addiction, which is a bit much but very on brand for reggaeton. Then the hook dissolves into "ti, ti, ti, ti" (you, you, you), the word "ti" chopped up and repeated until it becomes a beat. Handy grammar note: "ti" is the form of "you" used after a preposition, as in "de ti" (of you).
