El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, also known as "The University of Salsa," is a legendary salsa orchestra that originated in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1962. Founded by Rafael Ithier, the only remaining original member, the band has been a cornerstone of salsa music for over six decades.

With a dynamic lineup including singers Jerry Rivas and Anthony Garcia, El Gran Combo has released over 40 albums and has toured five continents, captivating audiences worldwide with their infectious rhythms and energetic performances. Their influence extends beyond music, having launched the careers of many salsa stars. Celebrated for hit songs like "Tingoli" and renowned for their danceable sound, El Gran Combo remains one of Puerto Rico’s most successful and enduring musical groups.
