Fumando la flor del edén
Smoking the flower of eden
El vopi no está que le den
The vopi is not that bad
Muleke você sabe quem
Muleke você saber quem
Mc Trovão, Planet Hemp
Mc Trovão, Planet Hemp
Brasil, Argentina no game, fumando de to continente también
Brazil, Argentina do not play, smoking from the continent too
In the streets of my neighborhood, my neighborhood
We grew up with little but we have much more to give
É na subida do morro, do morro
In the rise of the nose, of the nose
Eu vim de lá dessa cidade partida
Eu vim de la dessa cidade departure
Eu 'to vendo o bicho pegar
Eu 'to sell or bug paste
Come burning again, we hear Thunder with blood in our eyes
we are ready for war
Porque sabemos bem o que nos espera
Because we know what awaits us
Aqui se der mole, já era
Here it is mole, it was already
Nego, por que o jogo é a vera
Nego, because the game is true
Lucha por terra, luta por teto, demandas do pueblo
Fight for land, fight for teto, demands of the people
Nuestros ancestros, união, hermanos
Our ancestors, unity, brothers
Estamos por pierto
We are at the door
Arriba, Abya Yala
Above, Abya Yala
Do sul del mundo para todo universo
Sun of the world for every universe
Sem perder la ternura, jamás
Never lose tenderness, never
Assim nos disse Ernesto
Assim Ernesto told us
Tamo controlando la zona
Tamo controlling the area
Messildinho, peledonna
Messildinho, peledonna
Tr1, tira tira y no perdona
tr1, he pulls, he pulls and he doesn't forgive
Tenemos a toda la gente pulando
We have all the people working
Ando tranqui fumando en el bando
I walk calmly smoking on the side
No somos bandidos, somos malandros
We are not bandits, we are thugs
El Hip Hop en persona
Hip Hop in person
É na subida do morro, do morro
In the rise of the nose, of the nose
Eu vim de lá dessa cidade partida
Eu vim de la dessa cidade departure
Eu 'to vendo o bicho pegar
Eu 'to sell or bug paste
In the streets of my neighborhood, my neighborhood
We grew up with little but we have much more to give
Veja, assim eu conto minha história
Veja, assim eu conto minha história
Eu amo o jogo, não o dono da bola
I love the game, I don't give the ball
Esses tempo tão foda, los fascistas throwing out the manguinha de fora
Eu vim show that you fight with music too
The virtue of ignorance is not good for anything
Transações, transações
Transactions, transactions
Pupilas de cifrões
Cipher Pupils
Assassinos econômicos

Tem Petróleo, pré sal
Temp Oil, pre salt
Lítio, água natural

No cardápio dos vampiros
Don't cardápio two vampires
Da riqueza nacional
Gives national wealth
Celeste y blanca von la verde y amarela
Light blue and white with green and yellow
It's the new and old school function
Fala serio rapaz, no es brincadeira
Fala seriously rapacious, it's not brincadeira
Si en barrio te dormiste, ya era
If you fell asleep in the neighborhood, it was already
É na subida do morro, do morro
In the rise of the nose, of the nose
Eu vim de lá dessa cidade partida
Eu vim de la dessa cidade departure
Eu 'to vendo o bicho pegar
Eu 'to sell or bug paste

"MEU BARRIO" brings together two hip hop scenes that grew up on opposite sides of the same struggle: Planet Hemp, the veteran Brazilian rap group, and Trueno, the young Argentine rapper. The song is a shared portrait of the neighborhood, the "barrio" or "morro," where both artists come from.

Both verses describe growing up with little and still having plenty to give. Planet Hemp raps about climbing the hill of a divided city, about being ready for a fight they know is coming. Trueno answers in Spanish, describing the same streets and the same pride in coming from nothing.

The song also turns political, naming the economic forces, oil, lithium, water, that get extracted from Latin America while ordinary people are left with little. Hip hop is presented as a form of resistance, a way to speak up "with music" against that imbalance.

By the end, the two artists fold their countries into one idea: Brazil and Argentina, north and south, "Abya Yala," an Indigenous name for the Americas, standing together as one region and one struggle.
