No Volveré Lyrics in English by Luz Maria
Anegado translates to "flooded" or "submerged." It's a less common word than simply "mojado" (wet) and carries a stronger sense of being overwhelmed or completely covered.
In the song, the singer declares, "Un arrollo de olvido anegado / Donde yo tu recuerdo ahogare" (A flooded stream of oblivion / Where I will drown your memory). This powerful imagery uses "anegado" to convey the depth and intensity of the desire to erase a painful past, making it a memorable and evocative choice.
Luz Maria's "No Volveré" is a powerful declaration of a love that's completely over. She's telling a former lover, in no uncertain terms, that she's gone for good. She sings, "Cuando lejos me encuentre de ti / Cuando quieras que yo este contigo / No hallaras un recuerdo de mí / Ni tendrás más amores conmigo" [When I am far from you / When you want me to be with you / You will not find a memory of me / Nor will you have more love with me]. It's a really strong statement, almost a warning, that there's no going back. She even swears on God that she won't return, saying "Y te juro que no volveré / Aunque me haga pedazos la vida" [And I swear to you that I will not return / Even if life tears me to pieces]. That's some serious commitment to moving on!
This isn't just a sad goodbye; there's a lot of anger and hurt in her voice. She says, "Te lo digo llorando de rabia" [I tell you crying with rage]. She's determined to erase every trace of this person, even imagining her tears forming "Un arrollo de olvido anegado / Donde yo tu recuerdo ahogare" [A flooded stream of oblivion / Where I will drown your memory]. Talk about a dramatic way to forget someone! She uses some great imagery to describe their failed relationship, like "Fuimos nubes que el viento aparto / Fuimos piedras que siempre chocamos" [We were clouds that the wind separated / We were stones that always collided]. It really makes you feel the finality of her decision. She's on a "tren de la ausencia" [train of absence] and her "boleto no tiene regreso" [ticket has no return]. It's a passionate, no-holds-barred breakup anthem.
