This is a breakup song with no villain in it. Eden Muñoz starts with a slip of the mind: "El subconsciente me traicionó" (my subconscious betrayed me), and suddenly he's thinking about an ex he had no plans to think about. "No sé de dónde diablos te sacó" (I don't know where the hell it dug you up from) is a nice, very spoken way of saying it: sacar here means to pull something out of nowhere.
What follows is not bitterness. He wonders how she's doing, wishes her well ("Espero allá contigo todo bien" - I hope everything's good with you over there) and admits he's fine too. The chorus is the whole point: "Pasó porque tenía que pasar" (it happened because it had to happen), and the road led him to "la mejor versión de mí" (the best version of me). Watch the slang pa', short for para, in "pa' llegar aquí" (to get here), and the very Mexican acá for "here".
The title line lands last: "Que lejos estamos mejor" (that we're better off apart). It's a calm, almost grateful ending, and honestly more grown-up than most breakup songs manage.
