Jalil López, born Héctor López in Newark, New Jersey, is an American singer of Puerto Rican and Honduran descent known for his smooth, romantic take on bachata. He grew up as the youngest of four siblings to a Puerto Rican mother and a Honduran father, and found his voice blending the traditional Dominican rhythm with contemporary urban sounds.
He first drew attention in 2010 with the collaboration "America's Most Wanted" alongside Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, then teamed up with producer Raphy Pina to release "Princesa mía," which climbed into the top 10 of Billboard's bachata chart and led to a spot on the "La Fórmula" tour. After stepping away from music following personal hardship, he returned in 2023 with "Yo quiero el amor" and a collaboration with RKM on "No vas a encontrar."
In 2025, Jalil López lent his voice to "Volar," featured on the compilation album BCHTA RISING, Vol. 2, continuing to build his catalog of heartfelt bachata.
