desmayafaints

Desmaya comes from the verb desmayar, which literally means "to faint" or "to lose heart". It's a dramatic and visually powerful word that you don't often hear in songs.

In this song, it's used poetically in the line "cuando mi fe desmaya" (when my faith faints). Instead of simply saying that faith weakens, the lyricist uses desmaya to create a vivid image of faith becoming so weak it nearly collapses, making the feeling of doubt incredibly relatable and human.

SALMO 23 Feat. Marco Barrientos by the Mexican worship collective Un Corazón turns the timeless words of Psalm 23 into a modern, passionate conversation with God. The song celebrates a Shepherd who gives everything: rest for the weary, fresh strength for tired hearts, and a reserved seat at His table. Every line paints a picture of being lovingly guided along peaceful paths while an unfailing love and unstoppable goodness “chase” the singer wherever they go.

Even when the lyrics wander through “the valley of shadow and death,” fear melts away because the Shepherd never leaves, never forgets, and never gives up. The chorus flips the script of pursuit: God’s kindness follows first, and the singer joyfully chooses to follow back. In just a few minutes, the track invites you to trade anxiety for trust, loneliness for belonging, and uncertainty for the warm assurance that you are forever welcome at home in His embrace.
