storczykiemorchid

Storczykiem means 'orchid'. It's a beautiful and somewhat exotic flower, known for its delicate nature and specific care requirements.

In the song, Sanah sings, "Kochanie mnie to jak ze storczykiem, bo się wiąże z ryzykiem, padnie drugiego dnia" (Loving me is like with an orchid, because it comes with risk, it will die on the second day). This metaphor vividly portrays love as something fragile, beautiful, and challenging to maintain, making it a unique and memorable word in the lyrics.

Have you ever felt like you're a little too much to handle in a relationship? In her song "Miłość Jest Ślepa," which means "Love is Blind," Polish artist Sanah explores this exact feeling. She paints a vivid picture of a difficult, unpredictable love, comparing it to:

  • Changing seasons: sunny one moment, dark the next.
  • A delicate orchid: beautiful but likely to wilt quickly.
  • A dangerous jump: thrilling at first, but ending in a fall.

Through these clever metaphors, Sanah describes herself as a flawed partner who knows she causes pain. The chorus reveals that even nature itself, from the birds to the trees, is gossiping and warning her lover to let her go. The famous saying "love is blind" gets a twist here; she tells her partner that his eyes are wide open now, and he has seen too much of her difficult side. It's a bittersweet song about self-awareness and accepting that sometimes, a relationship has to end because one person's flaws are no longer hidden by love's blindness.

Sanah, born Zuzanna Jurczak in Warsaw in 1997, is one of Poland's biggest pop stars. Classically trained as a violinist, she studied at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music before turning to songwriting and pop.

Her breakthrough came in 2020 with this very song, "Szampan," which shot to number one in Poland and launched her career. That same year she released her debut album Królowa dram, the first of several chart-topping, diamond-certified records. In 2023 she became the first Polish female solo artist to sell out the National Stadium in Warsaw, playing to around 70,000 fans. Known for her delicate voice, poetic lyrics and dreamy melodies, she has become a defining voice of modern Polish pop.
