When the Romans discover it

They think that so much sacrifice is barbaric and try to forbid it

The festival keeps fading little by little

Until Pope Gregory IV

Changes its name to "All Saints' Day"

But in the 19th century Irish immigrants
_____
Take it with them to America
_____
And popularize it again with stories like that of Jack O'Lantern
_____
Stingy Jack was a rogue
_____
Mean, cunning, and drunk
_____
So much that he even tricked the devil

Using a cross from his pocket
