In "Venenosa," Spanish duo Nebulossa joins powerhouse vocalist MĂłnica Naranjo to turn heartbreak into a glitter-soaked dance-floor manifesto. The lyrics recall a time when the singer was belittled, lied to, and hurt by a partner who wanted her "dĂłcil" (submissive). Instead of breaking, she mutates into a praying mantis figure who devours her lover, declaring herself "venenosa"âpoisonous, dangerous, and absolutely untamed.
The venom is not spite for spiteâs sake; it is self-protection and rebirth. She tastes "honey on other lips," stains her pink sheets with new lovers, and discovers that dancing flips her moods from tears to joy. By embracing the label of "la tĂłxica," she exposes the real toxicity that once tried to cage her. The song is a fierce celebration of reclaiming your nights, your body, and your rhythmâeven if it means becoming the poison that finally sets you free.
Nebulossa is a dynamic electropop duo from Ondara, Spain, formed in 2018 by singer MarĂa "Mery" Bas and keyboardist/producer Mark Dasousa. Their name, inspired by the word for nebula in Spanish and Portuguese, carries a unique nod to Catalan culture through its distinctive double S spelling.
Rising in the Spanish music scene with their debut album Poliédrica de mà in 2021, Nebulossa quickly gained recognition for their fresh sound and bold lyrics. In 2024, they captured national attention by winning Benidorm Fest with their hit song "Zorra," earning the honor to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest. Their vibrant performances combine catchy melodies with innovative visuals, making them a fresh and exciting force in contemporary Spanish pop music.
